To those of you who have been with me since I started Jessie’s Heart in 2007 and those of you who recently joined the cause, I’d like to thank you for your generous contributions that have made a difference in the lives of children with heart defects.
Over the years, your heartfelt gifts have gone to celebrate the success of so many little ones born with heart defects. Like Carrie, now in her late thirties, who shared her life-long journey as a heart kid at our gala in October. Earlier this year she received a new heart and liver! Her's is a story of tremendous courage and strength! And one that Jessie's Heart has remained close to over the years and supported by providing emotional and non-medical financial assistance to Carrie and her parents. A true miracle she is!
As you know, we didn’t have this type of support when our daughter Jessie had two surgeries and passed after just 22 months. I’ve seen first-hand, how our support can lessen some of the burdens parent's face when caring for a child with a serious, life-long health issue.
Together we are making life better for heart kids and their families!
December 10th is Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.
For those of you who have the desire to pay-it-forward to those in need, we hope you’ll consider donating to Jessie’s Heart. With your contributions we can continue supporting families whose children have been diagnosed with congenital heart defects (CHD) - the #1 birth defect today.
